We all know about the power outage in India that occurred during the last two days. However, yesterday’s newspaper said that in India, 300 million people live with no electricity at all.
The population of the United States is 300 million people.
The population of Canada is 30 million people.
You might say that it isn’t so difficult to live without electric lights or fans. That might be true if you have windows and open, surrounding air. But people who live in slums live in plastic-covered rooms with no windows. I can’t even imagine how hot it gets in such homes.
Walking on the rocky paths of the slums at night is truly dangerous. No electricity also means no street lights.
